This rewarding opportunity provides the promise of a college scholarship, a caring mentor, a college success coach, college readiness workshops and student support services from college admission through certification/degree attainment.

Take Stock in Children has a 97% success rate, which means we have high expectations and require accountability among all participants.

Each student is required to sign a contract promising to abide by the program’s guidelines in order to attain a college tuition scholarship.

To receive the scholarship, students will meet all requirements.

Stay in school with good attendance and behavior

Maintain good grades

(Minimum 2.5 GPA)

Attend regular mentor-mentee meetings

Stay drug and crime free

Attend college success coach meetings and college readiness workshops

New Student Applications for the 2023-2024 academic year are NOW OPEN. Submission deadline is February 15, 2024.

Please review the general Applicant Eligibility Requirements (below) before proceeding. As part of the process, applicants will need to upload the following:

1. Student’s Social Security Card
2. Income Eligibility Documents
3. Most recent report card

Applicants are able to SAVE in-process applications and return to upload required documents prior to submission.

 

Applicant Eligibility Requirements:
  • Verified income qualification*
  • Enrollment in 8th or 9th grade at time of submission deadline
  • Attendance at Sarasota County Public School
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Good attendance & behavior record
  • Drug & Crime Free
  • U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident
